This exposition exposes the dangers of self-love and its natural progression to self-promotion and self-deception. Special attention is given to these sinful vulnerabilities upon which the “seeker sensitive” and “word of faith” movements tend to prey. The deceptions of the Purpose Driven Life, the Prayer of Jabez and the “ministry” of Joel Osteen and his popular book, “Your Best Life Now” are used as examples.
