After discussing the first century context of Peter’s epistle, including the gradual cessation of the revelatory and confirmatory sign gifts, this exposition examines four spiritual perspectives necessary for perseverance during severe testing, namely, anticipate persecution, persist in rejoicing, suffer in righteousness and trust in God’s purpose and power.
